People irritate me...

okay get ready, but i have another complaint about the human race...

first of all, by no means am i a big girl...i am of average height and weight, but i really try very hard to eat as healthy as i can. i exercise almost every day as well. i just enjoy living a healthy lifestyle.

recently i have been trying to eat more fish...there are so many great health benefits to eating fish...and it tastes really good, especially grilled! so at work today, i was talking to some of my co-workers about this. and my one co-worker who has to rain on every parade of mine, says, well you know fish is really high in mercury, you could end up dying from mercury posioning...nice. thanks for that!

every report i have ever read about that, says sure you might contract mercury poisioning if you were to eat fish every day, three times a day. but not once or twice a week for dinner as i do. what the hell!? what ever happened to the golden rule, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?!

i know that she meant well, but seriously, if that is the only thing you have to contribute to my healthy eating conversation, please move on...you are annoying me...

The return of the 'federletus'...Part II!

I don't normally blog about celebrities, but this was an opportunity I could not pass up...
Oh and of course getting to use the word 'federletus' in a sentence again is way to much fun to miss out on!
Woo-hoo!

Although the happy news hasn't been officially confirmed yet, US Weekly again is ahead of the curve with an exclusive story that yes, everyone's favorite white trash couple is again expecting!

US featured a tiny article on their website today about the good news. They promise to include more of the story in the full issue on stands now. In order to tease us into buying the magazine, they included snippets of what the full length version entails...how Britney has been hiding the pregnancy from her family and buying fake alcoholic drinks to fool the public, and of course how K-Fed is continuing to party despite his 'meal-ticket's', sorry, I mean Britney's pleas to stop.

MSN also featured a story about the US Weekly article.

I know that I will sleep better tonight knowing that K-Fed has once again bred another sure winner to his ever expanding gene pool!

don't you have better things do to...

okay, clearly i need to change the name of my blog....cause i have yet another complaint about the 'rocket scientists' i work with...

my ex-boss (she was kind of demoted recently...so really you can just imagine where this is going...) came up to me today, and looked really perplexed, i was almost afraid to ask her what she was thinking...
in her hand she was holding paper she had just recenlty gotten off the printer...she says to me that she is curious to know how much money we waste the company each day walking to and from the printer...i thought she was joking, so i proceeded to make a joke about how it is such a long hike to the printer, when i realized that she was serious.

she really is concerned about the money she is wasting the company walking to the printer?! oh my god! i didn't know what to say...well that isn't true, i wanted to ask her how much money she thought she was wasting the company with a thought such as this one, but the filter was on...damn the at work filter!

really, who thinks of these things?! and even more so, who worries about them?! seriously she has nothing better to do than come up with these thoughts...sad...very sad...

the criminalization of allergy sufferers...

hi, my name is 'c', i am an allergy sufferer...

sure of course i am not an addict or a criminal, but ask my local grocery store if they feel that way. yesterday while buying over the counter medication, which is what my insurance company said for me to use when they discontinued providing prescription medication for my allergies, i was carded! yes you heard that correct, carded!!! for allergy medication.
when asked why i was told that there is an ingredient in over the counter allergy medication that is used in meth. okay now i don't know about you, but i sure don't look like a meth user or dealer...at least i don't think that i do.
but here at my local grocery store they feel that there is a chance that i may be dealing meth...therefore making me a criminal by carding me for medication that my insurance company is making me buy.
here is the best part, since i clearly am over 18...it is okay for them to sell it to me, but had i been under the age of 18, nope i would be sol! that doesn't make any sense to me...since i am over 18 obviously i either can't be a meth dealer or if i am, who cares, they will sell it to me...
but if i am under 18 either i am most certainly a meth deal so they can't sell it to me!? huh!? this just doesn't make sense...what does the age of 18 have to do with any of this! i started taking prescription allergy medication in my early teens....and i if it had been over the counter then i may have had to buy some at one time or another, but no...i would not be allowed!
really, what is next?! condoms? that would make a bit more sense...or how about tampons, or advil? or why not even bread...yeast could be used in something sinister! really, how far are we going to let this go? until we live in a police state where our ever move is watched...oh wait, we are already there! silly me! damn the amendments, the constitution, lets just throw those out the window...who needs 'em! right? we have the check out girl at the grocery store there to tell us how to live our lives and what we can and can't buy!!

how do you define professional?

okay i know lately my blog has been a lot of complaints about the people i work with...but really i spend a lot of time there and i am quite dull otherwise...

right, so the question i pose to you today is: what is professional?
at my office it is definitely not the clothes...we are a very casual place, today i am wearing jeans, red flip-flops and a superman tee shirt...yeah like i said we are casual.

but does this mean that we should not be professional with our co-workers...? i don't think it does, but others in my office sure do think it means that!

my favorite co-worker (yes i mean that sarcastically, and i am talking about the same person from my other two posts!), sent out an email today to several people who rank a lot higher in the company than she does (remember i rank higher...and i am the one in the superman tee shirt!). normally sending out email isn't a bad thing, but not when you include this line: "So how we looking? Well let me rephrase that... I know I'm beautiful. :O) ..." this email was in regards to a status she was asking for. why would you think that saying that in an email sounds good...do you have no filter at all? or even know your audience...it is one thing to send a very casual (and creepy) email like that to people you are friends with at work, but there were people copied on this email who would not appreciate this kind of humor!

oh well, all i can do most days is sit back and laugh...and of course start a compliation of all the incredibly stupid things my cube neighbor does and says...then write a book and make loads of money!
;-) okay, maybe that is going a bit far...but hey stranger things have been published!

don't tell me how to do my job while using made up words

todays word is: "stagment"
the real word is actually, "stagnent":
- Not moving or flowing; motionless
- Foul or stale from standing: stagnant ponds

okay so here is the situation...
once a week we have a team status meeting, you know one of those meetings to check in and make sure everyone is on the right page (which we never are!). at the meeting my grammatically challenged co-worker (see my blog about grammar a few days ago for more on her) decided that she would start telling me about my job and how to do my job. now the thing is, i know that i am smarter than her, and i don't mean this in a pretentious way at all, i just am...and i have major seniority over her and i also have a higher title than she does...so in no way at all should she be telling me about my job and how she feels i should be doing my job.
the best part about this whole thing is that while telling me about all of the things she feels i should or shouldn't be doing, she made up a word, and the real word she was trying to use didn't really apply to the sentence, it went something like this, "why would you have a status to send, all of your functionality is 'stagment'...blah, blah, blah..." at that point, i stopped her (which is something i never do!) and said, actually,'stagment' isn't a word, the word you were trying to figure out is 'stagnent' and it really doesn't apply here. she got really defensive and almost looked as if she were going to cry...i felt bad for a moment and then it passed...anyway, really if you are going to tell me how to do my job, please at least use words that have been approved by some dictionary, maybe not even an english one, but at least one that has words in it...and don't use word in the wrong context, it just further proves your stupidity...giving me more fodder for my blog...

it is only eavesdropping if my ear is smashed up against the wall...

my bosses brother works in the same office, and i have the fortunate (said with much sarcasm!) luck of having my cube outside his office. under normal circumstances this would not be a big deal, except he is loud, rude and thinks he is better than everyone else. and being that he is my bosses brother, there really aren't any options to dealing with him.

to make things even more enjoyable (again with the sarcasm), he talks on personal phone calls all the time, with his door open and his loud voice booming out for all to hear. the other day a co-worker comment on something he had said while on a personal phone call, and he told her to mind her own business and to stop eavesdropping...

so i ask the question, is it eavesdropping when his voice is the only thing you can hear in the office?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Have a great weekend!

coming soon to a theatre near you...

be afraid, be very afraid...long gone are the days of good classic hollywood movies (as well as original thought)...now are the days of the sequels, prequels, tv shows turned into movies, books turned into movies and others you would rather forget were ever made...
2006 is looking to be a bleak year for movies (just wait until you see what is in store for 2007, i thought after 2006's movie forecast it couldn't get any bleaker...yeah, i was really wrong...)...here are some to look forward to (i say this with as much sarcasm as my voice can have, or thought...whichever...)...

DOA: Dead or Alive, starring Jamie Pressely (she really is great on My Name is Earl), Devon Aoki and some other chick i had never heard of...anyway, this movie is based on a video game...it should be fantastic...no.

Jackass: Jackassier, starring Johnny Knoxville, Bam Magera (okay i really do love his show!) and Steve-O
really the title says it all here...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning...why?

The Santa Clause 3, starring Tim Allen and Martin Short...do we really need this? and who pays for these to get made?! i just don't get it...

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, starring Will Farrell (why does he act?!) and Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali-G)...a movie about NASCAR?! are you serious...

Miami Vice, starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx...no Don Johnson and that other guy, forget it i am out! ;-)

and yes i have saved the best for last............drumroll please...the title of this movie really sums up the entire year for 2006...

and here it is:
Snakes on a Plane, starring Samuel L. Jackson...the title sums it all up...terrorists on a plane unleash the ultimate fury, snakes...oooohhh...scary...

but dear readers, don't despair, all hope is not lost for 2006.......

An American Haunting, starring Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek...this is based on the true events of the Legend of the Bell Witch, and notorious spirit who haunted the Bell family in Tennesse for over 200 years...

The DaVinci Code...really the book was great, if the movie sucks, i am sure i won't be the only person disappointed...

X-Men: The Last Stand...i know, i know it is another sequel, or whatever the word for third is...in the same context as sequel...but it is the X-Men, it has to be good.

The Omen, starring Liev Schrieber and Julia Stiles...i loved the original Omen (all 100 of them!!), the book scared the hell out of me as a child, okay mainly cause little Damien and i share the same birthday (June 06, which coincidentally...love it!...is the open day for the movie...but in 06, making it 06/06/06!), i can't wait!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, starring Johnny Depp, need i say more?!

Okay and lastly for the movies that have hope for 2006, is:

Lady in the Water, directed by M. Night Shyamalan...i just hold out hope that he will return to the director that twisted us all with the Sixth Sense...

two other honorable mentions for the year 2006,

The Grudge 2, the first one really did scare me...and Saw 3...

i am reluctant to even list them but here are some of the horrors that await us in 2007...as i said earlier, be afraid, be very afraid...

Rocky Balboa...are you kidding me?! wow...unreal that they are able to take this story any further...of course it is starring Sylvester Stallone...

Fantastic Four 2...okay i am not a guy, but i realize the only draw this movie has is Jessica Alba

The Simpsons Movie...yikes...this just needs to end...

and last but not least...(right!)

Transformers: The Movie...yes you heard me right, they are turning this beloved cartoon into a LIVE ACTION!? movie...need i say more!!

please don't give up on the movie industry...learn to embrace films that actually matter, i have turned in this, my time of need, to foreign films (yes i know they involve reading, but some of them are very beautiful) and of course Independent Films...some are a bit low budget, but there are others that are really quite good!

supposively...

alright let me start out by saying, i am a horrendous speller, but thankfully poor spelling isn't an issue when speaking.

here at work, i work in close quarters (cubes!) with the other members of my team. i have a certain co-worker who has the poorest grammar i have every experienced...ever...the worst!

it is not limited to saying that she is doing 'good' when she should be doing 'well'...oh no, it is not that simple...in a business meeting with clients the other day she used the word 'supposively' instead of 'supposedly', okay so you say, maybe she was nervous and tripped over her words, no, not so easy...she said it over 5 times...5 times! in one meeting! looking around the conference room there were many stunned faces, considering she is the lead of the project!! wow...is all i have to say...wow...

sure you may all be thinking this only happened this one time...she can't be that bad...oh but she really is. most days when speaking with her i have trouble understanding what she is trying to say because her grammar is that poor...it is not limited to just misprounouncing words, she also verbally abuses tenses...i get confused whether or not something has happened today, or yesterday or in the future...her words are so muddled in her bad speak.

the worst part is some days i feel as though it is contagious, i find myself using good instead of well, or forgetting a 'to be', or even worse using the wrong tense...it is just sad. and it is sad that she is as old as she is and has gotten to where she is continuing down this path of bad grammarness. just today she was on the phone with a client and instead of using the word 'expected' she used 'expectingly'...huh?! i certainly didn't have a clue so i am sure that the client didn't either.

i feel that bad grammar is bringing down our society and breeding a race of super stupid humans who one day may try to take over the world...what if this becomes the norm and people like my co-worker are considered smart...arugh...i shudder at the image...

oh did i mention the best part of this girl is that she actually thinks she is smarter than me...she tells me how to do my job and talks in that slow, condescending voice...unbelievable!

spring is in the air...

yes it is that time of year again...spring...the time of rebirth and renewal...and of course allergies...yeah...i do have to say that i love spring, i just don't however love the way i feel most days in spring.
okay so here is my rant for the year...(there is a reason that it is a year long rant, and after i finish i am sure you will understand)
as i have said before i work in the corporate world...it has a lot of good and bad things that go along with it...i get 4 weeks of paid vacation a year...okay now that is a very good perk! i work in a company that rewards stupidity (couscous is not a vegetable!!)...not a good perk...but whatever, neither of those have any thing to do with my rant.
at the start of this year, my insurance company stopped covering all allergy related medication. yikes! i however didn't know this, as usual i ordered my prescription refill on line to be picked up later that day, only to an hour later have the pharmacy call me telling me that before they filled my prescription, they wanted to make sure i still wanted it since it was no longer covered...huh, what!? not covered you say?! okay now that is an issue...so i call the insurance company, and i speak to a rather rude person who tells me to basically suck it up and deal...get over it, take 'over the counter' medication it is the same...wow...is it?! yeah that makes sense...so why do the drug manufacturers develop new drugs, if they really are all the same...she didn't have an answer for that, and she wasn't all too happy either when i asked her if she suffered from allergies...she promptly told me it was none of her business and hung up on me...now that is some good customer service!!
i didn't know what to do at this point...so in a panick i called my doctor, he is a great man and i knew he would fix this for me...i spoke with one of the nurses there, and she assured me that they would get this fixed...we hung up and i had high hopes...
10 minutes later my cell phone rang...it was my doctor calling back...as soon as i heard the nurses voice i knew my hopes were dashed...she spoke with either the same person or her evil twin at the insurance company, she receieved the same short harsh words i had and was promptely hung up on...just as i had been.
from here i really didn't have any other alternatives...i started taking the dreaded over the counter medication, after i few days i realized that this was not going to help my year round allergies. see what most people (especially insurance companies) don't realize is that a lot of people, like myself suffer from year round allergies, sure spring and fall are much worse for me,
but even in the dead of winter i find myself suffering from allergies...really as many have pointed out to me, i should live in a bubble!
so anyway, i am getting off the point...i suffer year round, so badly in fact that about four years ago or so i also developed asthma. now my asthma isn't as bad as it could be, mostly the days were my allergies are especially bad are those days that i also have asthma problems. but up until this point there had been no cause for concern...until now of course...
about a month or so ago, i came up with an ingenious idea, i would start taking a medication prescribed primarily for asthma, but that also had been proven to help allergy symptoms. at first it worked really well...that was until spring decided to spring! stupid warm weather...stupid plants, flowers and trees with their annoying habit of budding each year, producing that filmy green haze...arugh...stupid nature!
so, the new medication was working just well until that whole spring thing happened, now the past couple of days have been pure torture for me...yesterday i was so bad, my eyes were swelling up and i had hives on my stomach and neck...yeah, and over the counter medication works the same!
of course, i see no optimistic light at the end of the tunnel...no there is no light, only a hazing darkness brought on by severe allergies...
so if any of you have a solution (a legal one...i know all about buying drugs from our friendly managed health care neighbors to the north...) to my endless problem please feel free to let me know...i appreciate any suggestions...

ocd kitty...part 1

as you already know this is pookie my cat, i have introduced her in the past...pookie will be 11 years old this year, that is getting up there in age for a kitty...
this past week, pookie had to go the vets...for the past five years or so (maybe more...), pookie has had a bit of an over-grooming issue. basically she licks herself until she bleeds. her favorite spot is on her belly, she has managed to lick all the fur off of this certain area, and her skin is all red and raw. in the past pookie has been given cortisone shots to help relieve some of the pain and itchy...see this whole thing is a big circle, the area is really dry and itchy from all the licking, but since it is dry and itchy she licks it more to stop the itchy...so in order to break this pattern she had been given shots to help with the itch. well now that she is up there in age, cortisone shots aren't really recommended...so this kitty is getting put onto anti-anxiety medication, for two months! nothing like two months of pure torture for both her and i. giving a cat a pill is about as easy as giving a cat a bath...neither are much fun...and i have the scars to prove it!
on another note, i found out that cats get black and blue and bruise...pookie while at the vets had to have some blood work done, so they took a very angry pookie out of the room and back into the lab to draw the blood, when they returned, pookie looked angrier than i have ever seen her in our 10 1/2 years together...her fur was brisled, her eyes wide, her ears flat and her tail between her legs in defeat...the spot where the blood was taken from was still a bit bloody and she smelled like anespetic. the next day i checked out the spot and noticed that the blood had been cleaned off her fur (of course, kitties hate to be dirty!), and that in the place where the blood had been was a dark mark (not to be confused with the kind from harry potter!) on her skin...upon further inspection i concluded that she had brusied from the blood letting...poor kitty...but i do feel her pain, most times i have blood taken i have a bruise from my wrist to my shoulder!! anyway, stayed tuned for more updates of pookie, the ocd kitty...i am sure that i will have some fun stories once we start our daily regiment of pills! iPod top five

i read about this site yesterday on another blog...it isn't really that interesting...

but i don't have much else going on at this time...
check it out if you have time...or if you even care...

i found it somewhat interesting just checking out the schizophrenic nature of people's music choices.

here are the top five songs off my iPod when shuffled:

Kissing the Lipless by The Shins
Temporary by Rogue Wave
High Speed by Coldplay
Exit Music by Radiohead
Its All Gonna Break by Broken Social Scene

gross...

okay as i have stated in the past, i work in an office building...now i am not going to disclose the company i work for, but they are a pretty huge world wide company...and really i feel that what i found this morning when i came into the office, should not be happening...
so this morning, i arrive at my cube as normal, i put all of my bags down and hang up my coat...it is then that i look down...down at the trash can, when i notice that it is full...oh yes, full of all my trash from friday!
now i eat at my desk all day long...so there is not just paper in my trash can, there is some fruit peels, a yogurt container, some bread crust (i have tried, but i just can't seem to eat all of the crust on bread!), all kinds of other nasty things that have been left festering in the office over the weekend...
this just doesn't seem very sanitary to me!!
and everyday we all question why it is we are always so sick.........
no wonder, we are left to sit for over 9 hours a day next to four day old trash...
just gross...
