Trick or Treat
Kids are funny...trick or treat is funny...
Not really for the socially awkward. Grande plays basketball with some guys at a church on Thursday nights, so I am left to fend for myself...most nights it is me, some ravioli (or various other forms of pasta), and a weird foreign chick flick or Gilmore girl re-runs. However, tonight there was a lot more excitement...trick or treat...
The random stranger kids are fine, they ring the bell, take some candy (maybe mutter a thank you) and run off to the next house....but living in the type of neighborhood where Grande and I do (cue the memory of block parties, margarita parties -- "why does it smell like puke in here" -- those type of parties...), we know all of our direct neighbors, by direct I mean the entire freaking block.
Talking to people who I casually know is fine, but it is way more fine when Grande is around as a buffer. For those of you who know Grande, he is good looking and charming (but not in the sociopathic sort of way), so he is great to have around when talking to people. I on the other hand suffer from this freakish ability of social inability.
As a tiny child I hid behind my parents legs at social gatherings...during my late teens, early twenties I kind of went through an outgoing stage, but that seems to have left me in my late twenties. I have managed to somehow revert back to my introverted self. Which really most days is fine with me....except when I have to talk to some neighbors whom I don't know very well...there are awkward silences, strange pauses, and then the every more awkward good bye...then I am left to stand there questioning whether or not I made a complete jackass out of myself!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

LOL!
I'm sure you did just fine!
besides, you chose to leave the light on, so you must have been feeling more outgoing and adventerous!
Wait, I'm confused. Do they have Halloween on a different day in your state?
oh yes we do...trick or treat is almost always on the thursday before halloween. crazy i know...
So what do you do on Oct. 31?
um...go to church and pray for the salvation of man...duh! ;-)
but do you have fireworks on July 4th?
this is going to come as a surprise but no we don't...usually they are on the saturday or sunday before the fourth...
I hate to break it to you JR but we don't have fireworks on the 4th either, its cheaper to have them the day before! However, we do have trick or treaters on the actual day! Thank god or I'm way behind!
