Run/Walk

Yesterday I went running...about two blocks into it, I remembered that I HATE running. So I ended up walking for pretty much the entire time. I ran for a few blocks at a time, until I thought my lungs were going to explode...damn people mowing their lawns...the wheezing was really getting in the way of the running.

It is funny walking/running around the neighborhood. Normally I am on a bike, but since it was stolen, I can't really ride! Anyway, so walking/running is strange. I never know if it is polite to say hi to people you pass or to just stare ahead and continue on my path. I said hello to an elderly lady raking her leaves in the street and she looked like she was going to have a heart attack...I will remember to be louder when running up behind the elderly! I also noticed that some people have horribly tacky yard decorations. And what the hell is up with flags?! Not the patriotic type, but the ones that have kittens and flowers on them. Ick...they are really dreadful.

I was almost home when something horrible happened to me...first of all, I hate nature, I hate being outside most of the time, there are bugs and other scary things lurking around in the air. It was then that it happened, I almost stepped on a dead chipmunk! Oh yes a dead chipmunk...there he was...laying on the sidewalk, paws straight up in the air, dead chipmunk face staring at the sky. I screamed, like a little girl...shrieked, loudly! Then I did that little dance people do when they see something creepy, the one on their tiptoes...yep I was that idiot. Anyway, I can only assume that Alvin (or Simon or Theodore!) died from natural causes, it didn't look like there was any trauma to his chipmunk body...at least none that was visible to me in the instant where I saw him, jumped over him and looked back to make sure I hadn't just hallucinated him...

So I think from now on I will keep my exercise activities indoors, at least until my bike is found or I break down and buy a new one (which by the way you know as soon as I do that, mine will be found!!).
