People are strange...

Knowing that I only have about two weeks and a few days left at my job, I have stopped paying attention to most things. In meetings I have been spacing out thinking about what needs to be packed, or other moving related thoughts. Having this extra time to zone out in meetings has given me the chance to be more observant of behavior, for instance, I happened to notice that my boss doodles.

Okay for those of you who haven't heard me talk of my boss before I will give you a bit of a back story on her.

She is like a dragon lady, very severe and scary. Always frowning, she even frowns when she smiles -- it is freaky! She barks out commands with out so much as a thank you. And when she gets angry her face gets real red and she sounds even scarier...

For 6 years (well almost...) I have managed to avoid her. Most of the time she was never my direct supervisor, so it was easy to steer clear of her. But now she is my direct manager, so I have a lot more interaction with her. And now that she is heading the project I am working on, I have tons of time with her.

And the other day I noticed that she doodles...
When I think of people that doodle, I think of people like the grammatically challenged co-worker. You know someone of a bigger size who is writing their name in puffy bubble letters with hearts and smiley faces. Not scary dragon lady boss. Hell, I don't even doodle. Okay occasionally I have thing for drawing three dimensional squares, but that is about it.

There isn't anything against it, all I am saying is that there is a type of person who generally doodles, my boss is not that type!

On another topic, today I got an email from scary boss telling me that on November 29 and 30 she would like me to go to Canada to meet with clients, and then again on December 6 and 7. Funny...I will no longer be working here on either of those dates! Strange...
